FJBaurs' tribute to the legendary "bed - in" by John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1969 reflects the idea of freedom of an entire movement.
"Imagine", was a cry for peace and is considered the anthem of the peace movement (not just post-Vietnam). Lennon once said: …it’s a bit cleaner looking, but the basic message is the same, just more acceptable to people”.
The aged bed symbolizes the "age" of the desire for peace. The significance of maintaining peace, and its recurring ideals of the generation to Lennon & Co and not their disappearance.
The focus on the isolated, "strong" body in the attitude of the thinking man. Shown in strong tension, muscular and yet in deep thoughts and speculation of mankind.
Mouth and eyes almost unshown, dazing.
A symbol of human reason.
We, the human race (bedding collage), supported by strength and purity.
And the individual, sheltered by the peaceful strong and pure society.
Peace begins in each (thinking brain).
More relevant than ever, the desire of a society
clean from religious confrontations,
clean from nationalism
clean from wars
clean form condemnation of sexual orientation
